Decred 2.0 - The Future of Decentralised Money
Decred and the State of the market is brought to you by Exitus and PhoenixGreen with featured guests Jake Yocom-Piatt
In this discussion, we’ll be looking at what comes next for Decred and the future of decentralised money.
Livestream agenda:
We’re now at a point where Decred has delivered on all the initial goals laid out in the original road map. Over 10 years of constant development and iteration to make, what I consider, one of the most feature rich decentralised blockchains in the space. What sense of achievement does this give you personally?
The question now, is what comes next for Decred and is it time to set out a new road map for the coming years?
Bison Relay has come a long way since its first release almost two years ago. I’m interested to hear, what have been the greatest challenges you and the team have faced during this time, and what are your next targets for the platform?
- Moving Decred infrastructure to BR including CMS, Politeia
- BR web pages
- BR store front
- BR mobile
I purchased a digital item from a Bison Relay “testing simple store” recently and was amazed at how well it worked. Although very basic in design, all the elements associated with an online store were there: shopping cart, dollar conversion, purchase button, I even received an invoice. What are your thoughts on digital marketplaces and online shops?
When can we expect BR GUI users will be able to start creating simple stores, and how would you recommend they run this infrastructure, e.g. what’s the best / securest way to keep BR online 24/7?
The new proposal from Victor (vctt) regarding having games and a plugin system for Bison Relay seems very interesting. I’m excited to play a competitive game of pong. What are your general thoughts on having games on the BR platform?
Having a system where users can extend Bison Relay’s features by adding plugins seems fascinating. It also seems like a good way of maintaining Bison Relays core set of features and keeping the platform extremely lightweight, whilst giving users the chance to add features if they'd like to. What are your thoughts on BR plugins?
DCRDEX development is just about to enter into the version 1 phase. What are you most looking forward to regarding this release? What features would you like to see added or improved upon?
